Life has been so unpredictable lately, and that newborn photoshoot you had been planing for so long has had the date changed time and time again due to the pandemic.
But please don't worry. You can still have a newborn-style photoshoot with those sleepy poses months after your little one has been born. It just takes a little more planning.
As the weeks go on, babies start to stay awake for more extended periods, and they will be in more of a routine now.
We can use that routine to book their photoshoot around their natural awake time and try a feed and cuddle at the studio, getting them ready to settle in for some newborn-style images.
Just check out little Lucas at 16 weeks above....
Try to dress your little one in clothing that's easy to take off. A babygrow, for example, is perfect. And bring along a soother if you're using one. They are so helpful in a photoshoot.
Swaddling works a treat, especially for older babies. Warm and cozy with a little or long feed, we can capture some adorable sleepy poses, along with all the lovely big wide-eyed shots and smiles that are starting to come along at that age too.
Photographing little ones who are that little bit older than a newborn up to 15 days old is always going to be more challenging the older they become.
It takes a little more work and patience, but it's so rewarding!
Personality is starting to develop at this stage, and you can see that coming through in your images.
So if you're worried about it, please don't. I have photographed many babies well over the newborn stage, and all the mamas are so glad that they booked in.
If you would like to go ahead and book your own newborn photoshoot, just get in touch, and we can have a chat on the phone about any worries that you may have.
